Call For Abstracts ===================
Full Announcement here: http://www.bioimage.ucsb.edu/workshop2008/
The goal of this NSF sponsored workshop, hosted by the Center for Bio- Image Informatics at University of Californa, Santa Barbara, is to bring together researchers who work at the intersection of bioimaging and image informatics, to present their recent results relying on cutting edge image data analysis, computer vision, data mining, machine learning, visualization, and informatics methods, for studying biological processes. The workshop will be a two-day event consisting of invited talks from established investigators in the field, presentations from both junior faculty and students, and poster sessions. The workshop format will emphasize discussions rather than being solely a result-reporting meeting. The workshop will feature a panel session on standardized image datasets for validating computer vision and pattern recognition methods in bioimaging applications.
Call For Abstracts: Participants are invited to submit abstracts of their work, related to all aspects of bioimage data mining and informatics. Appropriate topics include, but not limited to:
? Bioimage infrastructure: data storage, organization, ontologies, pipelining and retrieval ? Bioimage analysis: image analysis issues including feature extraction, segmentation, tracking, and pattern recognition ? Modeling, visualization, exploration and data mining ? Bioimage atlases: cataloguing and localization of components within cells and tissues ? Bioimage based systems biology: quantitative analysis of large scale image datasets and integration within other systematic data sets (e.g., sequences, microarrays, protein interaction, etc.)
Abstract Submission Abstracts should not exceed 400 words of text. Authors may include images/graphics in their submission as appropriate. For more details, see http://www.bioimage.ucsb.edu/workshop2008/
Key Dates: Workshop: January 17-18, 2008. Abstract submission: October 15, 2007. Acceptance notifications: November 15, 2007. Hotel reservations: December 15, 2007.
